Will ST175/80R13 Trailer Tires Fit on the Harbor Freight Super Duty Folding Trailer?

Question:

I have a Harbor Freight Super Duty folding trailer 1720lb capacity. The 12inch stock tires are rated to 55mph. Id like to upgrade them to 13inch tires rated to a higher speed. Would these tires work? # AM31994 The trailer has 5 x 4.5inch pattern. thanks

To verify if you will be able to switch to the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel # AM31994 on your Harbor Freight Super Duty folding trailer you are going to need to take some measurements. This tire is 24.1" tall and 7" wide which is 2.2" taller and 1.4" wider than your 5.30-12 # AM30820 wheels and tires. So to verify the larger tires will fit you will need to have 1.7" of sidewall clearance and 4.1" of vertical clearance so the tire can flex and travel through the suspension. If you still wish to have the trailer fold up and move on the caster wheels you will need to ensure you have more than 1.1" of clearance from the tires to the ground otherwise you may need to add taller caster wheels.
