With the 20 ft utility trailers prower cable connected to the tow vehicle. Can an electric 5000# jack be connected directly to the trailers junction box and used to lift and lower the trailer? There is no battery on the trailer.

Helpful Expert Reply:
As long as you run the power wire for the Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX to the 12v accessory post in the trailer's junction box you'll be able to run the jack even without a battery while the truck is connected. This jack can pull up to 30 amps so you'll want to install a circuit breaker like # PK54-130 or 30 amp fuse holder in line to protect the jack.
