Can The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack e55ZV Be Rotated To Help With Tailgate Clearance?

Can the Jack be turned sideways so that my tailgate will open?

Hello Bruce, yes it can. The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack # e55ZV can be rotated to the size and the bolts will still line up. We have this jack on one of our trailers here at the shop and I have checked and verified it can be rotated.

Hey Bruce, did rotating the jack work out for you so your tailgate can open? I’m asking because it could help others with the same setup.

@JesseM Rotating the jack body does not fit the holes. Jack base is not an eqilateral triangle. Is there a way to rotate the head only?

@Danny Hmm I guess it depends on the size, shape and spacing of the holes on the trailer. There is no way to rotate just the head though.

@JesseM, Is it possible to tap new bolt holes on the head, so it could be rotated? Is there a schematic I could see prior to opening the head?
