I recommend using the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C87WR on your 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander. This is custom fit for attaching to your frame and uses a 2" receiver to offer a greater selection of hitch mounted accessories and ball mounts.

You will want to install the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59236 when you install the receiver. This will give you a 4-way flat wiring connector which is the most common connector used on small trailers. It will also allow for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 if you use a hitch mounted accessory such as a bike rack which can impair the view of your tail lights.
