Question:

I need a few parts. I have the 7 to 6 pin electrical umbilical. I’d like the kit for a 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I have the Blue Ox base plate with permanent welded mounts for tow bar connections. The base plate also has mounting points for the female electrical connection, which I want to utilize. I’ll also need a breakaway switch that is designed to connect to a patriot 3 brake. Searching your website left me lost. Your help is appreciated

I'll be happy to help you. Our website can be overwhelming sometimes with Jeep parts and all of the options. Since you already have the 7 way to 6 pin cable you will need the following parts to control your 1997 Jeep Wangler TJ's lights:

RoadMaster 6-Wire Trailer Connector - Vehicle End item # RM-910030-7

Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit item # RM-152

It sounds like you have something similar to the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BX1120. Ours don't have the Roadmaster Bent Electrical Socket Bracket item # RM-910030-5 to mount the 6-pin connector. From what you have described it sounds like you don't need it. If I am wrong email me back a picture and I will be happy to find what you need.

To replace the breakaway switch on your Blue Ox Patriot 3 you will need the Second Vehicle Breakaway Kit for Blue Ox Patriot Supplemental Braking Systems item # BRK2505.

If you need a tow bar to go with your Blue Ox base plate kit, I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount item # BX7380. This tow bar has a 6,500 lbs capacity, it includes the necessary safety cables, and fits a 2" hitch.
