Correct Curt Trailer Hitch to Fit a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
Updated 08/09/2023 | Published 08/08/2023 >
Question:
I have a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe SPORT. I noticed that the 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe standard hitch tucks up tighter, primarily because there is an appearance panel per your video. I wonder if I could use the Santa Fe hitch on a Santa Fe SPORT and simply cut a notch in my bumper to accommodate the Santa Fe hitch. So, are the measurements the same for the Santa Fe standard and the Santa Fe SPORT hitches?

While there are some similarities in how the Curt hitches install on a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Standard/Sport, the biggest difference is the exhaust location for the Sport. The trailer hitches that fit this model all have a mounting bracket shape difference to accommodate the exhaust for your Sport model, so you need to use one designed specifically for your vehicle.
Since you're interested in the Curt line of hitches I recommend using the Curt 2" Class III Hitch Receiver # C13152 because it gives you more options for compatible accessories.
Attached is an installation video and a photo showing this hitch installed on a 2018 Santa Fe Sport. If you let me know what you plan on using the hitch for I'd be more than happy to make any additional recommendations!
