Recommended Baseplate For A 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hi there - I can’t find anything online about a base plate that will work with either a 2022 or 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. My installer says they have active grille shutters that have to be trimmed to get the baseplate on. Is that for all trims, or would the Trailhawk not need trimming? It is already built with removable tow hooks that would allow something like the Roadmaster Direct Connect baseplate.

Vehicles with active air shutter will typically have to either have to have them removed or trimmed in order to fit a baseplate and wouldn't be something that would based on the trim level. This happens quite a bit with the Chevy Equinox and isn't a major deal as long as the installer isn't being careless and cutting off more than he needs to. To determine which models are going to have active air shutters you would need to reach out to Jeep to confirm.
For a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM77ZR. This baseplate has arms that will mount in the same space as your tow hooks so you would loose them during the installation process and would only be able to reinstall them if you removed the baseplate.
You will also want to reach out to a local MOPAR dealer to see if you need the MOPAR wire harness 82216418AA in order to safely flat tow your vehicle.
