Are Trailer Friction Sway Control Units Noisy

Question:
About my new sway bar I just installed on a small TT. Is it suppose to make a loud grinding noise when turning right or left? I’m assuming it does but not sure if I tightened the bolt too much.

Friction sway control is pretty noisy so the sound you are hearing with a system like the Curt # 17200 that you referenced is pretty normal. You might experiment with different adjustments of it to see if there's a sweet spot that's not too loud but is still effective but you won't be able to escape some noise.
