Increasing Spring Tension for Lifting Ramp with Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift

Question:
Hello, I was hoping you might be able to give a suggestion or two on how to make my DB tail gate assist work better for me, it’s installed on the side rail 13.5 inches off of the floor, it’s connected to the bracket at the 44 inch level, the picture shows about the only way I have been able to configure it to come close to staying low enough for me to drive the side by side on it and still have some assist closing it. Problem is that there is little to no assist for the last 3 feet when closing it and the chain slaps around. You can see in the pic there is a lot of slack on the chain at the barrel. I’ve tried a lot of different combos with no improvement. I guess it kinda works, but not like the videos. Any suggestions? Thanks,

What happens if you attach the quick link to one of the higher holes on the bracket that attaches to the ramp? That should get you more spring tension when the ramp is closer to being closed to help close it.
