Question:

Which is better for a very heavy trailer split tailgate? Gorilla Lift or RackEm Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate? Understand I’d have to buy two of the Double Barrel but are they more better suited for my tailgates?

The only real benefit of the Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Chain # RA-27C would be that you can easily adjust the tension on the gate bracket instead of having to make multiple holes in the gate framing with the Gorilla-Lift # GL1 to change the tension.

Since I've actually used the Gorilla-Lift and was happy with it I'm a bit biased towards them. The gate bracket for the Rack'Em does look a lot nicer than the eye-bolt setup for the Gorilla-Lift, but I feel like the chain (which does have a lifetime warranty) would rust/wear a lot faster than the cable. Considering that and the cost of buying two of the Rack'Em lifts would steer me towards the Gorilla-Lift instead.
