Question:

As the EchoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver 306-X7299 says it has a higher load capacity than the Curt option, I have to wonder, can the engine of the 2011 Honda Accord even handle pulling the higher load?

I took a look online and the 2011 Honda Accord has a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 lbs so the capacity of all the available hitches would be well over what the vehicles can handle. This is common practice amongst hitch manufacturer's and why we advise customers to verify their vehicle's actual capacity and not go off of what the hitch can do.

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch item # 306-X7299 is the only hitch available for the 2011 Accord that has a 2" receiver. It however only fits the Crosstour models.

The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C11002 also fits the Crosstour models but is only available with a 1-1/4" receiver.

If you have the sedan or coup you will want the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C11085. This hitch has a 1-1/4" receiver.
