Wow, I bet that quite the scenic trip Javier and so happy to hear these held up well for you! Did you see anything memorable along the way?

I am very pleased with the quality, fit and finish of the curt hitch. The purchasing experience with etrailer was phenomenal from detailed product information to order tracking and speed of delivery. A couple notes on the install. First I did have to bore out the access hole in the frame of my 2013 TL by just a little. In fact I’m not sure I enlarged the hole or if I just knocked off dirt and grime. My basic dremel tool is all I needed and it was not a big deal. 2nd the wire to fish the hardware through the frame was a little hard to see and my son had the brilliant idea to tie some floss to the end which made it easy to get the line pulled through the mount hole. Finally I pulled the rear wheels off. This is not necessary but made it easier to see and easier to get to the front side exhaust mounts. I’m not a car guy and generally choose to let someone else work on my cars but this was a fun job and only took a couple hour.

After a year I am still very pleased with my purchase. The curt hitch will long outlast my car.

by:

Order fulfilled quickly. Was extremely well packaged, and fitment was perfect once I did the modifications talked about in the Etrailer youtube install video. I couldn't be more happy with my product. Thank You!

by:

Excellent fit, good installation instru ctions.

by:

Part build is satisfactory, fitment is ideal.
Any modification needed was covered on website as well as installation material. My rear tow hook looked to be bent a little so direct fit was a little tricky due to my vehicles mating component condition. Didn’t take more than 6 beers and 2 hours. Works great for my bike rack. Anyone buying this for accessories will be pleased. Anyone buying to haul a trailer should not have an Accord

by:

Fits perfect for my 2009 Acura TL. I attach my bike rack to the hitch.

I used this hitch with my Hollywood racks destination 2 bike rack. It’s been great so far. Installation took couple hours in my driveway.

2009 Honda Accord

Bought this for a 2009 Honda Accord Coupe. It was a little more work than was originally planned for but it was fairly easy nonetheless.
I had to grind down the two plates that sit in the frame so that they would be thin enough to fit into the predrilled holes.
Also, as everyone else has mentioned, be prepared to mess with the heat shield over the exhaust. I found that it was easier to just completely remove the heat shield and figure out how much to cut by educated guesses which seemed to work out well.
Other than that, everything seemed to line up perfectly and I have had no issues at all so far! Shipping was quick and easy. I’m totally happy with my purchase and will buy from etrailer again for future needs.

No complaints! Great customer service. I ordered the wrong part. No problem, returned it at no coast, was sent the correct part. No issues with the item.

Easy ordering process, great shipping speed, and easy to install. It was really nice to have a video for my specific car and hitch directly on the etrailer site. Very professional organization!!

Still awesome after a year of use. Works perfectly for my needs and it is as solid as the day I installed it.

by:

I installed this on my 2012 Acura TSX SE. This part did not fit my car properly possibly due to manufacturing defects. About 1/2 inch had to be cut away so the U-bolt aligned once the other two connection bolts were tied to the chassis. Once installed and all bolts tied to specifications, the hitch had a downward tilt which was very apparent once I connected my bike rack. The bike rack (Swagman XC2 - purchased at the same time from etariler.com) fit very loosely in this hitch, even though both the hitch and the rack have 1-1/4 connectors.

After connecting with etrailer.com customer service I was sent a replacement hitch, the Draw-Tite #24899, which fit perfectly and the bike rack fits snug and tight.
Courtney in customer service was very helpful and accommodating - this is what makes the difference in eCommerce!

Will do business again with etrailer.com!

2009 Honda Accord

After much research on the internet looking for a trailer hitch for my 2009 Honda Accord I finally desided to purchase from etrailer. It looked like they had the most complete choice of hitches at a reasonable price. They also had a very good video on how to install their hitch. I ordered their hitch based on the information provided. They stated that the height of the hitch, when installed, would be eleven and one half inches off the ground. All I had to do now was measure the height of my 4x8 utility trailer while level to determine the "rise" I needed. It turned out I needed a five inch rise. They had everything in stock so I ordered. The delivery was very fast, 3 days, even though I checked regular delivery. I backed the car up on car ramps to raise the back and proceeded to open up the larger of the three frame holes. It only took a little grinding. (make sure you have a small rotary file/grinder. I didn't and had to run to the store). The system they have for pulling the bolt plate and nut through the hole worked great. I removed the muffler and cut out a corner as directed in their instructions. The hardest part of the installation was getting the hitch up and in posistion to bolt up. I measured the difference between the hitch sitting under the car on the floor and the frame rails. Found I could use a five gallon bucket and a couple of shims. By pressing down on one of the shims it lifted one side onto the bolt and I started the nut. Once that was done it was easy to lift the othe side and place all the bolts on the hitch and torque down. I then proceeded to wire in the wiring harnes I also purchased from etrailer. This couldn't have been easier. Job done. Total time to install was one and one half hours. (remember I had to run to the store). The hitch looks like it came on the car. Now I can use my Honda to move my utility trailer with light loads. Before I had to use my one ton truck which uses alot more gas. Thanks etrailer for a great product. If needed, I will buy again from you.

by:

Video was very helpful. Lowering of exhaust and trimming of heat shields was easier than expected. The diagram from "CURT" shows the first hole in he frame to be used to attach the hitch. The hole in the frame closest to the bumper is actually the hole to be employed. The hitch did not fit easily against the frame and needed to be torqued into position (my wife says she has not taken the vehicle "off road" or torqued the frame.. Probably best to order the 4 way T connector for light hook up at the same time you order the hitch receiver.

2012 Acura TL

The product is great! I have purchased a few and have been very satisfied with Curt hitches (for my prior SUV's). Installation was another issue for my Acura! What a PITA! The video says they take off the mufflers for the video...BS! It was a pain to get the heat shield off, a pain to "dremel" the hole to fit the stock and bolt, and then there is no way to get the heat shields back on with the mufflers in place (IMHO)! So...the message here is to not take the installation lightly. Did I do it? Yes. Would I do it again, No! I would spend the extra $100-$200 and have someone else do it.
Again...just for my Acura. Installation for my prior SUV's was a piece of cake!

by:
2009 Honda Accord

The hitch and wiring harness went on just as the video at your website showed. The only thing that would have made it perfect would be if the little flat piece of metal that the bolts went through had been made a tiny bit narrower so I wouldn't have had to grind them down. Otherwise it was a breeze compared to a hitch I installed on another car 13 years ago. Keep up the good work.

2013 Acura TSX

Quick delivery and great service from etrailer.com! I got it 2 days after ordering (super quick!!).

Hard to install the brackets (holes not large enough), so use a hammer to bang it through. Very easy to lose the wire for install and it takes a long time to retrieve, so be careful!! If you don't have help to install like me, use a floor jack (it was very helpful in lifting the heavy hitch).

by:

Fast shipment with all necessary hardware for self installation- took about an hour to install myself with air tools and floor jack. Tows beautifully with light trailers- highly recommend.

I received this receiver about 5:00 PM only three days after ordering it. I called the customer and he delivered his car at 7:00 PM. I installed the the receiver, the taillight converter and wiring, called the customer back and He picked it up ready to tow his trailer by 8:15 PM. That is amazing. Flawless fit and function. That is how to satisfy a customer.

2010 Acura TSX

2010 Acura TSX. Very nice hitch. I did have to grind the holes in the frame slightly to get the backing blocks into the frame. Initially, I loosely bolted the the two "wings" to the frame and then went to put the U-bolt on the tow hook, and it wouldn't fit, not even close. So, I called etrailer.com and they had technician Tommy call me back. He suggested I loosely bolt the U-bolt to the tow hook first and ten bolt up to the frame. It worked a charm. Three cheers for etrailer.com and Tommy. Great customer service.

This will be my third purchase from etrailer.com of trailer hitches and every time I place the order, the service is fantastic. The instructions are very clear and I have received my product in amazing time. Basically, the day I placed the order, George responded to me that the order had been shipped. I am very satisfied with etrailer.com's products and customer service. Highly recommend.

by:

This is a awesome hitch. It installed really easily, for me at least. It has some weight to it and feels like it is quite capable and up to the task it is designed for. The only challenge to the installation would be dealing with all the road grime on the undercarriage of my car. The product itself, is well made and the instructions are very good. I went online and reviewed the video clip on installation which really ties it all together.

2014 Acura TSX

This rack is as advertised, it fits perfect, and is straightforward to install (even for me). Installation directions were easy to follow, included all of the right information. However, it took a little longer than 45 minutes to put the hitch on the car. This is the perfect hitch for me (hauling bikes).

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2009 Honda Accord Sedan and a Bike Rack
For your 2009 Honda Accord sedan I recommend Curt trailer hitch # C11496. With the other hitch options there is an additional part you would need to be able to use a bike rack but not with this hitch. This and all of the hitches for your Accord are Class I hitches with 1-1/4 inch receivers. Class I trailer hitches are rated for a maximum of 2 bikes because it cannot handle additional weight that is further away from the receiver.
