Question:
My wife purchased a 2inch hitch ball and hitch, but we discovered last night that we needed a 1-7/8inch ball. Is the 1-7/8inch hitch ball compatible with the hitch that comes with the 2inch hitch ball? We were hoping to only buy the 1-7/8inch hitch ball so we did not need to buy an entirely new set.

You will just need the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball item # C40002. You won't have to buy a new ball mount. This hitch ball is 1" in diameter with a 2-1/8" long shank and has a 3,500 lbs capacity.
