Can I Bypass The Converter Wiring And Wire The Trailer Lights Directly To Vehicle Tail Lights?
Published 01/12/2023 >
Question:
Hi. I bought a wiring adapter a while ago and the tail lights dont work, everything else is fine. Can I bypass that one wire and connect vehicle tail directly to trailer tail, since the adapter only affects stop and turn? I dont have time just now to replace it. Thanks in advance

With having a Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Powered Tail Light Converter # C59496 on your vehicle you will not be able to connect your vehicle and trailer wiring directly. The converter reduces draw on the factory wiring and send power to the trailer lights from the vehicle battery. If you were to connect the wiring directly you risk damaging the wiring by putting the additional draw on the thin factory wires.
