Will this fit my 2022 Highlander? What else do I need for towing a trailer with brakes? I don't have the tow package and I want the easiest brake controller installation that you have. Thank you!

The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH35VR is most definitely a fit for your 2022 Toyota Highlander. I like this hitch because it has the hidden crosstube and a really robust construction.
To add wiring and a brake controller to your setup I recommend picking up the T-One Wiring # TK99FR, 7-Way Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L with Mounting Bracket # 306-X6020, and then the Curt Echo Wireless Controller # C51180 with the Manual Override Button # C83HR.
The T-One wiring is the best we have to offer and then to install the Upgrade Kit you just plug it into the T-One and then route the 12V power wire to your vehicle battery. The Echo brake controller plugs into this 7-Way connector and is controlled via an app on your phone so you won't be running and wires in the cab of your vehicle! I like the override button because it means you can put your phone away while towing but still have access to the manual override feature at a moments notice if the need arises.
If you don't already have a ball mount I recommend picking up the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount # BWTS10048BB and securing it with the Locking Hitch Pin # 34061075-D. This ball mount has a wide range of adjustability and uses so it could very well likely be the last ball mount you have to purchase.
