Is a Weight Distribution Hitch Needed For Towing a 4,400LB Travel Trailer With a 2022 Ford Ranger?

Question:
Im buying a 2022 Ford Ranger and I plan on towing a NOBO 19.1 trailer with it. The Rangers towing capacity at 7500lbs is plenty for a trailer with an unloaded weight of 4400 lbs as far as I can tell, and Ive thought about a WDH just to be safe, but research on the Ford towing specs sheet says that its Not Required. Im thinking it cant hurt, and I cant quite figure out why they would say that. Do you have any insight on this? Thanks

I highly recommend using a Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800 with your NOBO 19.1 travel trailer. This hitch is rated for trailers weighing up to 8,000lbs which exceeds what you can tow with your 2022 Ford Ranger. It is also rated for tongue weights of 400-800lbs which you will need to verify for your trailer. The main reason to get the weight distribution is to ensure your truck doesn't have excessive rear sag which can lead to light steering and diminished braking. It also gives you sway control to ensure the trailer tracks straight behind your Ranger and does not sway in the wind.
Ford will say you do not need weight distribution as the weight capacity for the receiver is enough to not require weight distribution.
You will need a 2" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6080 or a 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 and a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 for the hitch. You will need to verify the correct size ball with your trailer coupler.
