Question:
I need to extend my factory hitch 30” to clear my slide in truck camper. I will be pulling my Carolina Skiff boat that weighs about 3000 to include the weight of the trailer. What are my options. Please reply with options/recommendations and part#’s so I can order the correct parts for the proposed options. Thanks for your guidance.

When it comes to add a hitch extender on your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with a 6-1/2 foot bed first you will need to install The TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class V - Dual 2 inch Receivers # TLC1204. This hitch has a bolt on installation with no welding required and has a black powder coat finish that resists corrosion.
This hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight up to 17,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 1,700 pounds. I would recommend checking your vehicle's manual to find out the proper towing capacity of your vehicle. Using this hitch will give you the 2 hitch head openings needed to use The TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension for SuperHitch Trailer Hitch Receivers - 42 inch Long # TLE1542.
This extender gives you a 42 inch extension and has a maximum gross trailer weight capacity up to 6,000 pounds and has a maximum tongue weight up to 600 pounds. It has a sturdy steel construction and has a black powder coat finish that helps resist corrosion.
