Hello, neighbors, I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're looking together at this Torklift Cannon hitch extension for your three-inch factory hitch receivers, and this one is 24 inches long. So, like I said, this will work in conjunction with your factory three-inch receiver opening, and it's gonna help you clear obstacles in the bed mounted such as campers, salt spreaders, those kind of things. And it's gonna let you tow or use your hitch-mount accessories. It's got a nice, robust, heavy-duty design. It's American-made steel made here in America even, and it's got a nice, beautiful black powder coat finish that's gonna resist corrosion.
And, again, everything here is made in America. You got nice patented lateral support cam buckles, brackets and chains. Now, folks, you're looking at the end here. It's gonna go in the vehicle. Again, a three-inch by three-inch tube.
You can see a welded nut inside of there. From the bottom you'll put a set screw, or a bolt rather, and then another one back in here from the bottom up. And that's in the instructions that come with it. The patented lateral support chains would then go out over the hitch tube, one on each side like a V, and you can tighten them with the cam turn buckles, (metal clanging) or take the link out, or move this clasp here up on different chains to get the length and tightness you need. All that's spelled out in the instructions.
As far as how to do that, it's pretty simple. Like I mentioned, you get all the mine hardware, all those secure bolts, lock washers, nuts, spacer blocks. Now coming here to the front, I'll pull up here to the front. You got your safety chain tie downs here. You got this wire-mount bracket.
This is just loose on here. I put it together real loose just for demo. You can move this to this side. You can go upside down on the bottom on either one, depending on your space, wherever you need this guy, it's pretty versatile. It's got nine holes and slots on both ends, so you can put it where you need it. So, again, three-inch at the front here, slides into the factory hitch. Down here it's gonna come out as a two and a half inch by two and a half inch. So it also comes with a sleeve adapter. So, again, two and a half by two and a half here. If you need the two-inch, (metal clanging) they threw it in there with it. So, you get that two-inch adapter to slide in there, and then you could fit all your two-inch accessories, ball mounts, bike carrier trays, whatever. Now let's talk some weight rating. So again, 24 inches long, 5,000 pounds max gross trailer weight. If you're using it with weight distribution, you can go up to 10,000 pounds max weight. The maximum tongue weight is 500 pounds and that goes up to 1,000 pounds. Again, if you're using in conjunction with a weight distribution kit. Again, a very nice lifetime warranty. One person install with the truck camper on the truck. Super simple. I used my rolling kobalt shop stool to carry the 48” extension’s weight when I slid it into the receiver. Easy peasy. I have a 2019 F350 DRW (8’ box) and a 2021 Arctic Fox 1140 with the Fox Landing. 48” was perfect. My Yakima bike rack is great with the Fox Landing up and the bike rack swings down when I want to lower the stairs. Highly recommend.
Just got it! Have not had a chance to use it but it looks well built. I replaced it from a Reese 2 1/2 36" camper Extension. I have a 3" receiver now less slop plus the added hitch chains.
This is exactly what I needed to pull my boat with my truck camper. Solid steel, built to last for sure. Very happy.
This hitch extension will be the last extension you will ever buy. It worked great towing my boat behind my 2017 F-350 Dually,( I purchased the 48” cannon) my boat is about 3000 lbs. this hitch is more than capable for towing, just about anything you can pull within Your hitch limits. I have an extended deck on my camper, and I had enough room to turn 90 deg and not be close to contacting the boat. Never bottomed out on a driveway, on my last trip. Quality hardware, super easy install, might need a little help inserting It into the receiver it is “heavy” Overall glad I purchased this.
This hitch is extremely heavy duty and well built! The ONLY reason I did not give it a 5-Star rating, is that I had to grind off weld splatter to allow it to slide into my receiver. Of course, this removed the factory finish. I did repaint, but quality control was lacking on this issue.
Simply amazing. Well built and fits my hitch perfectly. I highly recommend. Very heavy unit to slide in the receiver. it helped to stack some blocks behind the hitch to raise the extender to slide it in. when assembled there is absolutely no slop.
Seems to be a stout extension. I bought without having camper on truck so i might be a bit longer than needed for my application (lance 855s) but the sales guy had a good point about longer lenght may help with less chance of trailer making contact with camper. That guy's are always a pleasure to work with!
Heavy duty hitch extension. Works great on a Ford super duty with 3 inch receiver. Nice not having to use an adapter. ended up selling it as it was too long for my application.
Very well built! Double walled tube! Nicely welded! Loaded my slide in camper, hooked up the 6x14 TA trailer and loaded the SXS. Couldn't tell it was back there, no loose play, all the components stayed tight and I was really impressed! It's a bit heavy but that's what's needed for a 36" hitch. For perfect for my application! I would recommend this product
The length of the tubing was too long and struck the spare tire. Options were to drill a new hole for the pin or cut off the excess tubing. As to not mess with the location of oin and length of the extension from the receiver I cut off the couple inches that contacted the spare tire. Also verses taunt. Gains on each side of the extension to prevent side to side movement I used a U bolt on the receiver to hold it in place. This works good.
The Torquelift 42 inch 1642 hitch extension fit perfectly on my 2026 Ford F350 DRW and Lance 1062 camper with the ultra bumper. Ends up about 2 inches from the edge of the bumper. The hitch will extend beyond the bumper fine.
The extension is a very well made double wall tube weighting about 70#.
It is used to pull a boat, horse trailer or a Jeep on a F450 with a very big camper.

My 24” TorkLift extension is working great, as intended, a year later. No issues.
Heavy duty hitch extension, highly reco mmend.
The Extension is a very nice piece, this from a welder/fabricator. My problem is figuring out the WD hitch on my rig, showing 1900 lbs TW and can't go any lower with the ball as this old school style Curt system aims the bars way too far down. Guess Etrailer is getting more of my $$$ for a new WD system soon!!!
