hello, i was just wanting to get some input, i have a 5 way wired trailer. and i want to use a 7 way plug, what must i do to get proper lights? splice trailer wires? or ?

The Mighty Cord 7-Way RV Style to 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector Adapter # A10-7275VP is the easiest way to connect your 5-way flat trailer to a 7-way on your tow vehicle. This adapter will not require you to splice any wires.

For a more permanent change the 7-Way Round RV Style Trailer Connector # A7WCB would need to be splice in with your 5-way wiring. The benefit to this is there is no worry about leaving the adapter in a different vehicle or it getting lost. I have linked the pin locations for a 7-way connector and 4-way below. The 5th wire on your connector will go to the reverse light pin on the 7-way.
