Question:
Hello, I have a 2017 Kia Sportage. Is there any real reason to go with the more expensive Item # C13281 over your in-house e72TR? Thanks

Expert Reply:
The # C13281 and # e72TR Class III hitches are the exact same hitch, both are manufactured by Curt. The etrailer brand hitch has a matte powder coated finish, while the powder coat on the Curt hitch has a glossy finish.
Some feel that the matte finish is a bit more desirable, as it tends to match the black underside of the bumper cover on the 2017 Sportage better which makes the hitch a little less visually obtrusive, but other than that (and the brand sticker affixed to it) the hitches are identical.
If the appearance of the finish doesn't matter to you, you can choose the less expensive of the two and not need to feel like you've sacrificed anything as far as durability or quality goes.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118698, a ball mount like # D-28 and # PC3 hitch pin and a trailer ball like # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.
I've linked to installation videos for the hitch and the trailer wiring harness.
