Question:

I am considering purchasing your etrailer Hitch, Part e38KR , for a 2026 Kia Sportage. Due to what the hitch is for, I need to know, once installed, and totally ready to use, how far will it extend past the Kias bumper? Or, does it extend past the bumper. Planning to use it for a folding bike rack and needing to know if the bike rack will indeed have room to be folded upward. Thank you

Congrats on the new SUV Thomas. When installed on a 2026 Kia Sportage, the hitch pin on our etrailer item # e38KR hitch sits 6" back from the far edge of the rear bumper. The bottom part of the 2" receiver sits 11-1/2" above the ground.

The etrailer Hitch item # e38KR is custom fit for the 2026 Kia Sportage. It fits all models including the hybrid. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 525 lbs maximum tongue weight. It's going to work great for towing a small trailer or hauling an accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier.

I installed an etrailer hitch on a 2024 Hyundai Tuscon. We have a flat rack that goes into the hitch. Like the bike rack, it folds up. We had no problems. As an aside, installation was really straight forward. The Tuscon even already had the electrical plugs that fir the ones with the etrailer hitch. This was the 3rd I've installed, BMW X3 and a Miata.

I installed on Hyundai Tuscon and it is about 3-4 inched inward from the bumper edge. In other words it does not extend past the bumper at all!

Hey there. I have a 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid and I purchased this hitch for my Thule bike rack. My bike rack folds up with zero space issues. Just make sure it is for your make and year and you will have no problems with it. It is a great hitch with fantastic build quality, it is made of solid steel so mine is heavy, but if someone hits you in the back, the hitch laughs it off. And also, for the Kia, you will need some form of light connected to the vehicle and hitch or the Kia thinks you are about to hit someone or something due to its safety sensors in the rear bumper. And also, the wiring harness NEEDS to be an OEM from Kia, third party wiring harnesses, even though they work spot on, they will not work with Kia’s system. It needs to be OEM from Kia.

We have a 2023 Sportage and have no problem. We have a Yakima upright mount rack that folds and it fits fine; just make sure you don't hit the liftgate button when something is folded.

I have a 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid. The face of the trailer hitch sits a little less than 4 in FORWARD and about 6 in below the back edge of the chrome bumper trim.
