Question:
Good morning, I have a 2015 keep grand Cherokee Laredo with the 6cyl gas engine. I want use part number HM40975 for the wiring as I believe it just plugs into the factory wiring. But what hitch has the mounting plate already on it that is comparable? I saw lots of photos of other grand cherokees with this wiring and directly bolting to a hitch but can’t find any hitches that state it has the mounting plate welded on. Thanks Again

The Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket - Vehicle End item # HM40975 will fit your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo if you have the towing package. It will be easy to confirm if you do because there will be an OEM plug directly behind your rear bumper to plug into to. I have linked an installation video.
Typically the Draw-Tite hitches like Item # DT38MR have the mounting plate installed to mount the wiring harnesses. There isn't a hitch available for your model year of Jeep that has the mounting plate because the etrailer item # e98901 or the Curt item # C13065 don't have it either. Instead you will want to use the Curt No-Drill Bracket for 6-Way or 7-Way Round Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket - Long item # C57202. This allows you to attach your trailer connector mounting bracket to your Jeep without having to drill. All you will need to do is attach this sturdy steel bracket to your trailer hitch with the included hose clamp, and then quickly and easily bolt on your connector bracket.
If your Jeep doesn't have the towing package you will need a couple of harnesses to have a 7-way and 4-Flat connector. The first you will need is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118727. The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7.
