Question:
I have a 5x8 Lowes utility trailer. I bought a set of bearing buddys that I thought would work and it matched the cap that was on there when you put them side by side but would not go in. Do you have any idea from your experience what the size would be for a trailer that small?

In order to find the right bearing buddy size for your 5x8 Lowes utility trailer you are going to need to measure the inside diameter of your hub bore. You will need a very accurate measurement so I recommend using a digital caliper like the # PTW80157.
Once you have this measurement you will be able to match it up with a bearing buddy if one is available. For example, if you get a measurement of 1.980" then you would be able to use the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 1980A-SS w/ Auto Check - Stainless Steel (Pair) # BB1980A-SS you looked at.
I have attached an installation video along with a link to all of our bearing buddy bearing protectors which you can filter down by hub bore diameter.
