Question:
I am looking for a weight distribution hitch for my 2018 Wrangler JL Unlimited Sport. 3500 lb GTW, 350 TW. I have heard that Wranglers should NOT use weight distributing hitches because it will twist the crossmembers. Is this true? My trailer with my Harley inside is 2200 lbs, about 50 of my Wrangler. I am currently using a ball mount with a 4.5” . What would you recommend if I can use a WD hitch? Most of the ones I have looked at do not accommodate 4.5" drop.

I have never heard of a weight distribution hitch twisting the rear crossmember on a Jeep Wrangler. If one were to twist the user was likely not using the correct weight hitch or overloading his Jeep.
For your 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited Sport I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution # EQ37061ET. This hitch is rated for trailers with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs and total trailer weight up to 6,000lbs. You will need the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 since the hitch does not come with a shank. This shank will give you a 4" drop and also extends out an extra 6" than a typical weight distribution hitch allowing for more room to work around the spare tire on the back of your Jeep as well as giving you some more room to open the rear cargo door.
A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install the 2" hitch ball that comes with the hitch. Or we have the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 if you have the larger 2-5/16" coupler.
