Features to know about

Carry More Gear with Confidence: Class III Strength and a 2" Receiver

This hitch is built for everyday versatility and light to moderate towing. With a 5,000 lb gross trailer weight rating and 500 lb tongue weight capacity (5,000 lbs GTW and 500 lbs TW when used with weight distribution), it’s perfect for hauling small trailers, boats, or campers. The 2" x 2" receiver opening handles most bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts without the need for adapters. Whether it’s a trailer for weekend projects or a rack full of bikes, you get a solid connection you can count on.

Get Past the Spare Tire: Extended 9" Receiver Tube

The 9" long receiver tube gives you extra clearance for hitch-mounted accessories. That extra reach helps bike racks, cargo baskets, and other gear clear the spare tire while still keeping everything stable. You won’t have to struggle to find an extender or worry about limited access at the rear—just mount up and go.

Install It Yourself in the Driveway: Bolt-On Mounting with Included Hardware

You don’t need welding or special tools to get this hitch on your vehicle. The fully welded design bolts directly onto the frame using the included hardware kit and instructions. The precision fit and robotic welds make alignment straightforward, so you can get it done in your garage or driveway without frustration.

Built to Last Through the Elements: Powder Coated Steel Construction

The gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat keeps the steel hitch sturdy and corrosion resistant through years of use. It’s made to handle road grime, rain, and salt without losing strength or shine. You get a hitch that’s strong, good-looking, and ready for whatever hauling jobs come next.

This hitch went straight into existing mount points on a Jeep Wrangler JK. It was hard to see much difference between the Max Tow Class II that came off. Maybe just beefier? There was no issue at all with Küat bike carrier encountering excessive paint inside the receiver. Muffler did have be dropped for bolt insertion. No biggie. Fast shipping!
A recommended installer, Precision Line Service (Howard, Co), did a fast install at the quoted price. Happy camper here.

Excellent quality for 2026 Jeep Wrangler

by:

Well constructed and fitted perfectly on my 2104 Jeep Wrangler

by:

Perfect fit and was easy to install, working as should with no issues holding bike rack and hitch basket.

by:

One of the easiest hitches to install.

by:

Purchased for my 2 door JL. The first 3 bolts fit perfectly but the 4th was a little too big so I ran down to Home Depot and picked up a 12mm which fit perfectly. Outside of that assembly was a breeze. Not need to remove muffler as stated in instructions. 10/10 would recommend.

@Patrick Thats awesome! I had never heard of the Quadratec brand before. Thats cool how it extends far enough to clear the spare tire. Happy biking!

by:

Perfect fit for 2025 2 door Jeep Wrangler. Nothing to remove and no modifications needed. Simply unpack and bolt in through the existing holes in the frame using the supplied hardware. Nice and solid! One thing to note is that depending on what you intend to use it for (like a bike rack), you may not clear the rear spare tire if you have one. I used an extension with a 2" drop that solved that issue and also allows me to fully open my tailgate.

by:

The product looks well built and good quality and installation was easy.

by:

The receiver hitch fits perfectly. The extra length made my bike rack clear the spare tire .

by:

The item came overnight shipping and great quality

by:

The installation on my 2026 Jeep Wrangler went very well. The hitched fit nicely to the frame and didn't require any hammering to get it in place. I encountered the issue where the position of the muffler would not allow me to insert two of the four bolts. I didn't drop the muffler or use smaller bolts as others suggest, instead I used a flat wood board (1x4) as a lever to pull down slightly on the muffler. No more than a 1/2" of movement was all it took to get the bolts in. Because the muffler has rubber mounts, there was enough play in them to make this work and the wide flat board didn't dent the muffler. I had to do a little filing on two holes to get the bolts completely through, but not much.

by:

The installation was easy, the quality looks great.

by:

The Postal System slow the first deliver up. Not a correct address. The second hitch came in 3 days. I'm a repeat customer of e-trailer. I would from e-trailer again.

by:

Excellent product. Easy install. Fast shipping. What more could you ask for. Thanks.

by:

Great trailer hitch for the Jeep

by:

The receiver is well made and was delivered on time. the installation went smoothly once you have the holes lined up. I watched the video and knew what steps to follow.

by:

Sturdy, solidly built. Just received it and will install this weekend. I have watch your video and looks like a DIY.

Our Curt trailer hitch has worked out great. We got it without the wiring harness so we could put our ebikes on the back of our Sahara when we were traveling. Installation was easy.

by:

Perfect! Exactly what I needed for our electric bikes rack on my Jeep Wrangler.

by:

The hitch is top quality. Shipping was fast and free. Shipping is amazing. I’ll be back again.

by:

There should be a hole for the wire harness connector that has to be removed in order to install the hitch. The original hardware that has to be removed was very difficult to get off the Jeep, and there was no way to reinstall the original welded nuts once the hitch is in place. I think the Mopar hitch may have been a better fit.

by:

This is one of the finest hitch receivers I’ve ever installed. It is of the absolute highest quality, and the fitment is perfect. Well designed and well executed. The end of the hitch sits flush with the wrangler’s bumper. I highly recommend this over the OEM.

"Recommend over the OEM" I like it Deythean =) What do you mainly plan on using the hitch for?

by:

The hardware itself is excellent. The issue came with the install. First, there were 2 bolts in the holes required to mount this. Removing them showed a mounted bracket that held 2 welded nuts for those bolts -Directly in the way for the new ones. A bit of a fight to get it out, but did. Tried the new bolts to verify they would go through the 4 holes with no problem. Two of them hit another internal bracket and wouldn't go through, but original bolts would. They were 12mm, so almost same half inch as the kit hardware. To access for drilling the holes required either removing muffler and pipe or the bumper. I chose to get nuts and lock washers from the hardware store and install. In the end, was able to use 3 of the kit bolts and one of the original jeep bolts. Very snug fit, but done.

by:

This is a terrific hitch with a high rating. The only hiccup is that it overlaps with the factory 7-pin harness. I was able to drill a couple new holes and make this work, I just wish Curt had considered this during development.

Install pic (as viewed from passenger side) & notes on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport S 4 door w/ OEM bumper.
1. Loosen (2) 10mm bolts at bottom of bumper.
2. I did not lower the exhaust.
3. Remove (2) long 18mm bolts & washers from frame. Nuts remained fastened to metal bumper center bracket (good thing).
4. Slide hitch receiver into position between the center bracket and frame.
5. Install the (2) long 18mm bolts and washers. (Do not tighten yet)
6. Install the new (2) long 19mm bolts, nuts and washers that came with the hitch receiver.
7. Torque bolts to specs.
8. Tighten the (2) 10mm bolts at bottom of bumper.
Side note: My torque wrench only goes to 75-foot pounds or 101 newton meters, but I needed to brace myself against the tire and use my leg to get at 75.

Thanks for taking the time to give such a detailed review and POV of your install experience. A few weeks ago I installed a hitch on Mazda that needed 70 foot pounds and it was a struggle to that last bit down. Pretty good form to use your leg for that last push! What are you going to be using the hitch for?

@CliffK That's great! I've also never heard of a platform cargo carrier referred to as a porch, but it totally makes sense.

by:

BETTER THAN FACTORY for my 2026 Wrangler Rubicon X because it extends out to the back further which allows for easier access when connecting a trailer, changing hitch inserts, and even flying a parade flag so it doesn't hit the spare tire!

One NOTE: The inboard factory mounting hole for the electrical connectors has a nut plate in the frame that is covered up by this hitch. I recommend manufacture drill a 1/2" access hole to allow mounting of the factory electrical connector. See pictures below.

1st picture: The bolt that is circled is the one I had to drill a 1/2" access hole in the e-tailer hitch in order to mount the electrical connector in the stock location.

2nd picture: After the hitch was installed, i put shackles on for the chains.

  • Difference Between Curt & Draw-Tite Trailer Hitches For 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Hi Ken, Starting with the wiring harness, I can verify for you the correct fit for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited without a tow package is indeed the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118786. Then for the hitches, the biggest difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13392 and Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT78MR is the length of the receiver. The Draw-Tite has a shorter receiver that can make it a bit more of a pain to add a ball mount...

In fact I do not see an etrailer branded hitch for your 2025 Jeep Wrangler Sport S Unlimited. So for the hitch I would go with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13392.
