Great question.

The main things you need are a Base plate, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, Braking system, Wire harness and possibly a HI-Lo adapter. I will list my recommendations below.

I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BLU93FR.
The Blue Ox Ascent Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 7,500 lbs # BX4370. This comes with safety cables.
The Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251.
Then Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267.

You may or may not need a Hi Lo adapter. To find out it is an easy process. You will need to park the motor home and truck in line as if they are connected and on a flat level surface. Measure from the ground up to the center of the hitch receiver on the motor home.

Next measure from the ground up to the center of the base plates arms on the colorado. Those two number need to be within 3 inches of each other. If they are not you need to get an adapter to even them out. Doing this will prevent added stress to the suspension systems of the motorhome and prevent premature wear and tear.
