Question:
hi, Ive got an 06 sierra ext cab with 20: rims and 305/55 tires. I feel that the truck has a fair amount of body sway and have been thinking about installing a ses package. I read that the spacing should be between half an inch and one inch - so im guessing that half an inch of spacing would result in tight feeling suspension around the corners but may feel a little rough - and if I had one inch it would be a little looser around the corners but not as rough. is this correct? most of the time I will have an empty box and I want a smooth ride with less body roll. I realize these systems have several advantages over sway bars but are they as effective around the corners?

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement Systems such as # TFR1525HD that you referenced will provide you a smooth ride when your truck is loaded - until the bed of your truck has sufficient load to take up the 1/2 - 1 inch of spacing between the Timbren spring and the vehicle they do not have much of an effect.
You are correct with your spacing assumption whereas the smaller the spacing, the tighter the ride, however, since you are experiencing body roll during normal drive time, your better choice is a sway bar for your 2006 GMC Sierra Extended Cab such as Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1109-167. The sway bar solution will give you the road stability you are looking for while driving. If your truck happens to have a suspension lift kit installed, you will also need Roadmaster extended-length end links # RM-590045-00.
Installation instructions for the sway bar are attached.
