Hello John,
Thanks for writing in.
Yep, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1109-167 will fit your 2005 GMC 3500 Duramax diesel dually, 4WD, extended cab with the 8-foot bed. It’s a confirmed fit for the 2001–2006 Sierra 3500 trucks, including the dual rear wheel models.
The # RM-1109-167 is a great upgrade for those trucks, especially with the weight of the diesel and the dually setup. You’re going to notice a big difference in body roll and side-to-side sway, whether you’re cornering, towing, or getting pushed around by crosswinds from semis. It really helps reduce that leaning feeling in turns, keeps the truck more level, and cuts down on that loose, wandering feeling on the highway.
Big thing people like is it tightens everything up without making the ride rough. It’s a 1-1/4" chromoly steel bar with polyurethane bushings, so it’s quite a bit beefier than stock and holds up well over time.
If you tow or haul much at all, it’s one of those upgrades you’ll feel right away. Just makes the truck more controlled and a lot less tiring to drive on longer trips.
What kind of issues are you hoping this will correct? What are you hauling or towing?

2007 2500HD Classic Crew Cab, 8ft bed. Duramax. 1600 lb slide in pop up camper. It has a lower center of gravity than a standard hard sided unit. That said, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1109-167 does reduce sway and roll some, but I would prefer a greater reduction in those areas. If I were to do it again, I would go with a heavier one. In the past, I have used a 1- 3/8 on the front and 1-1/4 on the rear of a passenger sedan to eliminate sway and roll with no discernable change in ride quality.
