HappiJac Camper Tie-Downs - Front and Rear Tie-Downs - LC182906-182971 Review

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the HappiJac testing tie-downs for your truck bed camper. This system is going to allow you to haul a sliding camper in your Silverado or Sierra. The tie-downs themselves provide an attachment point to secure your four corners of the camper, so you're not going to have any side to side, front to back, or up and down movement, which is going to make it a much more comfortable ride for you. And it's going to prevent any, or reduce any sort of jostling in the camper itself.

This is a custom fit kit, so it's going to work with your 1999 through 2006 Chevy Silverado Classic, as well as the GMC Sierra Classic. I do recommend checking the fit guide on our product page, just to make sure that it's going to work for your package. This kit does include the direct-to-frame front brackets. Being direct-to-frame, this is going to live in between your cab and the bed of your vehicle, and it's going to mount directly onto the frame, so it's going to give you that solid attachment point. You're not going to have to worry about it coming loose or anything like that, and it is going to help reduce the swaying of your camper. It's going to distribute the weight more evenly so that you're not going to be too top heavy.

The stabilizing bar here is going to create an I-beam truss structure, which is going to help reduce the stress on your truck's frame. Some kits don't come with this, that's the nice thing about this kit is that, it includes this I-beam or the stabilizing bar to create that I-beam structure. You're also going to have your centering guide locks here that are going to help prevent your camper from shifting from side to side, you're also going to have your rear anchors that again are going to give you those third and fourth attachment points to hold your camper in place.Your kit is going to include your two front anchor plates, your two guide plates, two of your L-brackets, your two rear anchors, as well as your one 59.25 inch long stabilizing bar, as well as all the hardware that you're going to need to get it installed, including your plastic spacer plates and adhesive to get those mounted, and your instructions that are going to give you a step-by-step guide on how to install this properly. Now, one thing that is not included in this kit is your turnbuckles. Turnbuckles are what actually holds your camper down to your tie-down locations.

HappiJac does have several different options for differing price ranges and convenience. I would recommend checking those out here at etrailer.com. They are specifically designed to work with this kit, so they're going to prevent any sort of extra tension or things that could cause damage to your truck, that regular chains, ropes, or bunch of cords, those kinds of things aren't going to provide. The metal components of this kit are made of steel, so they're going to hold up well, and be able to trust that they're not going to break down on you or anything. This kit is made here in the USA, so it's going to give you confidence that it's made to high standards of quality. And it does come with a one-year warranty from HappiJac, so they stand behind the product, it's going to do a good job for you.

That's going to complete our look at the HappiJac custom tie-downs for your truck bed campers..
