Question:

WILL THIS PLATE WORK WITH THE FORD OEM PUCK SYSTEM? A ROUND SHANK. I JUST PURCHASED A NEW 2022 FORD F 250. MY 14 FORD 250 HAD A B and W GOOSENECK HITCH AND IS SQUARE SHANK. I USED THIS SAME PLATE FOR MY CURT HITCH, JUST THE SHANKS ARE DIFFERNT, IS THIS CORRECT?

As the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # C16210 is designed for use with the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, it does use a different style of mechanism in the shank to secure it in the bed. I included pictures of what I mean. With that being said, the X5 cannot be used with factory puck systems, unfortunately. However, I do have another option.

The Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch # C88KR is designed specifically to fit your pucks and will snap right into place. This will give you the industry standard 5th wheel mounting holes, but I do need to say that this will add 2-1/2" of height to your 5th-wheel hitch when installed.

Other than swapping out the legs on your 5th wheel hitch to ones that are designed to fit the pucks, this will be the only option available.
