If your truck already has a B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch, this adapter gives you the fifth-wheel base rails you need without drilling or bolting into your bed. Just drop the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter into the square gooseneck hole and lock it with the existing pin — no extra supports required. You get an instant set of above-bed rails ready for your fifth-wheel hitch.
The adapter provides an industry-standard rail (ISR) pattern compatible with fifth-wheel hitches from Curt, B&W, Demco Hijacker Premier Series, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and Valley. That means you can use a wide range of standard or sliding fifth-wheel hitches — including models rated for up to 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,000 lbs vertical load limit.
This adapter’s sturdy steel construction is finished with a black carbide powder coat and liquid Aquence coating for durability and corrosion resistance. Rubber pads under each support foot keep the rails steady while helping prevent rattling or sliding in the truck bed. Once installed, the connection stays tight and stable for confident towing.
If needed for clearance, up to 1/4" can be trimmed from the bottom of the shank — as long as the locking pin hole still aligns properly. The square mounting tube centers directly over the gooseneck ball opening, keeping your setup balanced above the axle for consistent weight distribution.

The adaptor twists within the B and W gooseneck hitch causing at times a chunking noise that is rather unnerving although I am quite certain o am not going to lose the 5th wheel now that I know what is that's causing the noise ,it been very very difficult to convince my wife that there is not something drastically wrong.
Fit & function are just as expected. Quality of material, welding & finished appearance just as advertised. Online purchasing experience flawless. Over all extremely satisfied with product & service.
This is so much better than having the rails permanently in my truck. The installation went well. Having to cut the heat shield is one of those moments on a brand new truck but it needs to be done. I recommend getting a plug for the turnover ball. Winter salt will not be kind to the ball in the turned down position.
Works well with 5th wheel hitch. I was hoping to be able to remove adapter fairly easily to access flat bed when not using 5th wheel hitch, but that's not happening. It's a very tight fit in my gooseneck receiver, so not able to remove adapter very well. I'm disappointed in that, but otherwise pleased with your product. Thank you.
Have a truck with a goose neck hitch but needed an adapter to haul a 5th wheel trailer. This hitch is very easy to use, fits well in my bed (truck bed is very banged up and uneven from years of demolition/ remodel work and fire wood hauling), and is quick to place and remove. The adapter lays flush enough in the truck bed that it wouldn't affect most loads or cargo (i.e. Lumber, mulch/bark, fire wood, etc.)
My 5th wheel hitch (Reese) fits perfectly with the hitch. I am incredibly pleased with all aspects of this product. Worth the price for the ease of use.
Nothing fancy, strictly utilitarian and simple. Built like a bomb shelter and shows no signs of wear. I pull a Keystone Laredo 298BH almost bi-monthly and this gives me the flexibility I need to switch hitch styles between trailers. If you need a completely flat bed for hauling then you still have it versus bolted on bed rails. Much safer than a 5er extension and doesn't void the warranty on your travel trailer if there is a failure. I shimmed mine off of the truck bed to take out the slop with 2 sections of round baler belting from a tractor supply store attached via industrial adhesive and it works beautifully. It weighs a lot so swap outs are a bit of a chore but i wouldn't want it to be built any lighter.

This product is well made with all the welding locations being strong and perfect. Very easy to use and fits well in my BW gooseneck ball slot. I would recommend this to anyone.

Works great, I had a Reese hitch left from my old 5th wheel and two pickups with the turnover ball in the bed. This is easy to install and solid when pulling. Just what I needed.
Received it within the week I ordered it, customer service was great, fit beautifully.
Ordered Curt X5 Fifth Wheel Adapter for my B&W Square Shank Turnover Ball Hitch and received it in two days. Had it installed in my trucks in a matter of minutes. Just pulled out the ball and inserted the adapter, no holes to drill in my truck bed and simply unpin it and remove it to have full use of my bed. Love it!

It is great! Just got back from a 4800 mile trip and unhooked my fifth wheel and pulled the pin and removed everything from my truck bed. The only way to go!

I recently purchased a used '08 Ford F-350 with a B&S turnover gooseneck hitch. I wanted to use a Reese 16k hitch that I already own and put it in this truck without doing the typical bed rails to attach the fifth wheel hitch. I contacted Etrailer and they quickly identified the Curt X5 adapter to solve my issue. Ordered new adapter and in 3 days I had the unit and everything fit perfectly. Received product 4 days after ordering with free shipping. Seems really well made. No noises or clunks when towing. It dropped right in to my b&w gooseneck and my Reese 5th wheel dropped directly into it. Good product.
Managed to get my hands on a curt E16 5th wheel hitch and couldn’t be happier with the combination. The drop in weighs 100lbs and is honestly really easy to install. The hardest part is getting it from where it’s stored to the back of the truck.
Received the Curt X5 B&W turnover ball adapter yesterday. Would have been easier to drop in with two people but I was able to do it myself. Dropped right in, and in less then 15 seconds it was dropped and locked. Saved me lots of install time on 5th wheel rails. Set my RBW lil' rocker hitch on and pulled my 10,000 lbs 32' 5th wheel across town without issue. I feel that this is probably the strongest way to go when running a 5th wheel to turnover ball adapter, and its only about $*** which is a fraction of the cost for those other weird complex adapters that side load or flex. Customer feedback was great with optimal response time on my questions.
This is just what I was looking for, already had Curt R5 slider hitch, put B&W hitch on new truck. Tried a gooseneck adapter, but too much flex. Went back to 5th wheel hitch. This adapter is built heavy, weighs over 100lbs by itself. I pull a 14,000lb toy hauler, with a F250 shortbed, needed the slider. I feel much safer with this product. Ordered from e.trailer, shipping was right on, only 3 days.

Great product! Ive pulled a 42' to Hell and back not one problem. It is heavy, but it's very solid. My fifth wheel hitch fit straight in. Way cheaper than having to put rails in if you have a factory ball hitch in the bed. Its It's also nice that it's removable so you can haul furniture, or things that can't sit crooked ect. Great product, should last forever. Definitely would recommend
One question is there an adjustment for the pin ? It drops in great but the locking pin is a bit off and will not slide in.

I am not aware of a way to adjust that, Eugene. Do you happen to have a bed liner? Those can cause this kind of thing to happen.
