Features to know about

Turn Your Gooseneck into a 5th Wheel Setup: Adapter Provides Standard Rails

If you’ve already got a Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store gooseneck hitch, this adapter makes it easy to switch over for 5th wheel towing. It drops right into the round ball hole to give you above-bed rails, so you can mount a standard above-bed 5th-wheel hitch. It’s a simple way to make your existing setup do double duty without installing permanent rails.

Strong and Confident Towing: 20,000 lbs GTW and 4,000 lbs Vertical Load Limit

Built to handle real weight, this adapter is rated for 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,000 lbs vertical load. That means you can tow heavy 5th wheel trailers without pushing the limits. The solid steel construction gives you confidence that your hitch and trailer will stay secure mile after mile.

Straightforward Installation: Drops Into Place and Locks Securely

You don’t need a complicated setup to get rolling. Just drop the adapter into the gooseneck ball hole and lock it in place using the same mechanism that holds your gooseneck ball. Rubber pads on the underside help keep it stable and prevent sliding around in the bed. When you’re done, it removes just as easily, leaving your bed open for other work.

Built to Last: Corrosion-Resistant Coating for Long-Term Use

The steel frame is finished with a black carbide powder coat and coated in liquid Aquence for added durability. These finishes help resist rust and wear so the adapter holds up to years of towing and weather exposure. It’s made to keep looking good and performing reliably no matter how often you swap between gooseneck and 5th wheel towing.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I do have a few recommendations for you. Bed liners and bed mats may affect the fit of the adapter and trimming may be necessary. This system will not work with fifth-wheel hitches or pin boxes that rotate, nor auto-slide fifth-wheel hitches.

It works great I was a little concerned at first because I couldnt get the hitch pin to go in. Finally hooked it up to my fifth wheel and problem was solved. The weight of fifth wheel pushed it in far enough for hitch pin to go thru. Probably better to fit snug than to be loose.

@Kevin Glad to hear you got the pin through. A nice snug connection is always a good thing! More secure, and less noise.

by:

Best thing for someone who uses the entire bed of their truck. Does not make anymore noise than a standard rail kit.

by:

Charles was very helpful in answering my question promptly and saved us a lot of money another company led up to believe was necessary to spend. Shipping was fast and overall great experience. Will look here in the future when the need arises. Thank you!

Very fast free shipping

by:

Very prompt service placed my order two days later my hitch arrived,no hidden costs, put hitch adapter in my truck in minutes and am ready to go. The sales person was very knowledgable and professional not pushy like some internet sales sites. Will definitely be my go to place for parts in the future.

by:

Had to use chain and a cheater pipe to seat this in the gooseneck, but it’s better than being loose. Mounted a Curt A20 on it and it pulls a Keystone Montana like a dream

by:

Works great, lines up perfect, and when the rails get in your way trying to use your truck bed; you just pull it out.

Only gets used a couple times a year but still looking good and working great.

by:

Adaptor works great! Unless you have a bed liner the holes don’t line up. Have to use weight of trailer to pull pin and insert pin.

by:

Fits a little loose but all in all ez install great solution to utilize all Towing capabilities

by:

Product will not lock in to place . Mount system shown is exactly what it said needed to be but rails are flush against the bed of truck and shaft is still about 3/16 to 1/4 inch from where the locking pins slide threw.

by:

After using this adapter for a year it's proven to be durable and easy to use. It's nice not having those rails in the bed of my truck! If there is a draw back it would be weight as far as installing it when you're ready to use it but you can't expect it to be light weight when it has to perform a job like handling a heavy fifth wheel. I recommend it highly!

by:

This dosen't work with my truck, Had to order Demco I think you should have caught this. Also the rails mounting kit came with the hitch I don't need them with the turnover ball, Want to return both for credit.

Love my Curt C615-632 under bed rail kit, and Curt C16210 5th Wheel adapter. This is easy to use, and I can maximize the use of my box when not towing. The installation is clean with a small 4" cap when not towing. I was so happy with the product, I have purchased another C615-632 for my new truck also

by:

I use this on a 3500 Silverado which come with an original spray on bed liner. This makes my fifth wheel adapter very hard to hook to the goose-neck hitch. I virtually have to undo the main bolts and then torque them again after the adapter is hitched.

Upon my complaint, I was told to simply cut out the bed-liner???? Imagine!!!!

Once mounted, the fifth wheel hook up work just fine. I am lucky to own a pneumatic impact gun though....

by:

Overall the adapter works excellent. I did have a couple problems at first.
First I had problems installing it. Not the adopters fault. My gooseneck receiver was too low. I had to loosen all the bolts then get a port of power underneath and push it up as far as I could, to get the adapter to lock in place. Then I retightened all the bolts.
Then my hitch would not work with this Curt adapter. When sliding my hitch it hit the center dome of the adapter. Very fortunately I had a friend who had a Curt slider hitch. He sold it to me very reasonably and then everything work perfect.
The first time I tried to remove the hitch and adapter assembly I could not get it unlocked. Had to put down pressure get the Bucket of my tractor, turn it unlatched. Had to do the same when installing to get it to latch. After pulling the trailer a couple times everything works excellent. And I actually like my new/used Curt fifth hitch over my previous Fifth wheel hitch.

by:

I had an issue with this not sitting all the way down into by gooseneck. I have to place my backhoe bucket down into this for my bolts to engage...What a pain in the neck. Wish there was a easy way to fix this, but I feel the only way is to mill the piece or shim my existing gooseneck under the bed.

by:

This product fits my fifth wheel hitch well and fits in the truck hitch as well. Have not pulled with it yet as winter storms are here. I expect it to work well. Expensive for as simple as it is. Hoping it is built well. Nice That I was able to get a used one at a reduced rate. Missing the pads so we’ll see what kind of a difference that makes. Very happy with etrailer as a distributor. They make the purchase easy and quick free delivery. They Always follow up on my satisfaction with my purchase’s.

Will the Curt gooseneck to 5th wheel rails adapter work with a Pro Series Slider 5th wheel? That is, will the slots match up?

Patrick B. profile picture

Yes. The tab slot spacing is pretty universal amongst most manufacturers including Curt and Pro Series. Your Pro Series slider will drop right in to the the Curt X-5 adapter.

  • Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Hitch Adapter for Trailer with Leland 7921 Pin Box
For a Leland pin box the best fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter is going to be the Convert a Ball part # CAB-C5G that you referenced. Only issue is that since you have a short bed truck you aren't going to have great turning clearance. Ideally you'd have a hitch that a rail adapter could fit like the X5 part # 16310 for B and W hitches or the # C16210 for Curt double lock hitches so that you could use a slider hitch like the Curt A20 Slider part # C16541.

Sounds like you are trying to switch up your fifth wheel hitch setup so that you have more turning clearance.
