Expert Reply:
When installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR on your 2022 Chevy Silverado, it is important to note that the dial/control head is designed to be mounted at a distance from the main unit to allow for a neat, convenient installation and not impeding on lower leg airbags or driver leg room. The remote head can be mounted directly to the dashboard, to the center console, or through a spare knock-out switch panel. This does require for a single drilled hole. I went ahead and attached a picture that shows the installation of the remote head for your convenience.
You can also purchase the Universal Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob # 331-TPSI-001 to create a more factory look at the mounting location.
