Question:

I just picked up a 2022 Subaru Ascent and I need to add a receiver so that I can carry my Kuat bike rack. Do you recommend using the one that mounts behind the bumper cover or should I use the under mount receiver?

I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e55ZR for your 2022 Subaru Ascent. This receiver will keep your Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack # NV22G higher off the ground and will not cause you to loose any ground clearance with your Subaru. The receiver is capable of supporting up to 750lbs of tongue weight and 5,000lbs of total trailer weight. Be sure to not exceed any weight capacities given by Subaru for your Ascent.

I do recommend installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118790 when you install the receiver. This will allow for you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on your Kuat rack so that drivers behind you on the roadway will have a clear view of a set of tail lights.
