Does Brophy Scissor Step Mount Permanently to Rear of Camper

Hi I am buying this for my boyfriend for christmas for our lance camper that sits in the bed of his truck. After installing this stair case doe sit stay put on the bottom of the camper or do you have to take it on and off when driving? Also wondering if I should get 3 steps or 4? thank you

Expert Reply:
The Brophy Camper Scissor Steps # AS24 that you referenced is designed to get removed when travelling. So the bracket would install on the camper under the door permanently and then you'd mount the steps to them when you are parked as needed. To determine if you need this 4 step or the 3 step comes down to the height of your door from ground. The 4 step is good for if the entry height is between 31 and 39 inches whereas the 3 step # AS23 is for 24 to 30 inch entry heights.
