Does Curt Trailer Wiring Harness 55353 Require a Connection to the Battery on a 1997 Nissan Pickup

Question:
does this require a fused wire to the battery or does the terminal box handle the extra needed amperage required of most trailers? I have a Cary 5x8 utility trailer I need to wire the 97 Nissan XE pickup for. I bought a hoppy universal but it will only operate the running lights and there is no wire to the battery with it.

Curt trailer wiring harness # C55353 is not a powered converter so it does not require a direct connection to the vehicle battery. It draws all the power it needs from the vehicle tail light wiring. I have included a link to the installation instructions. These types of plug and play harnesses take all of the guess work and wiring testing out of a hardwire installation so it should work much better for you.
