Today, you're going to be taking a look at the Brophy mounting bracket for four-pole flat trailer connectors. That's going to be part number BK4F.So here's what our four-pole bracket's going to look like once we have it installed. It's going to allow us to have our four-pole wiring right by our hitch. That way whenever we get ready to tow, we can plug right up. This is going to be a lot better solution to secure our wire rather than just hanging it on our hitch or securing it to our safety chain connection point because we don't have to worry about our wires hanging down and possibly getting damaged. Our bracket is going to work with most four-pole standards plugs, and even if we remove the dust cap, you can see it's not going to fall back in even if we have to really push to plug in our trailer. Installing it is going to be as simple as putting two bolts in and running your four-pole connection through the bracket.
Let's show you how to do that now.Our four-pole bracket is going to have two holes on it, so we can either mount it to our hitch or another bracket so we can put our wiring in place. Keep in mind that our bracket's not going to come with any hardware, but if you are using a short or long bracket, there will be hardware with that kit. So I'm going to drop down my hardware from on top of the bracket. I'll line up the hole in my four-pole bracket, and I'll do that for the other hole as well. Then I'll come back and tighten up all the hardware. Now, you just want to take the dust cap off your four-pole, and coming from the back side, we'll push it through.
You just want to make sure that you push it in far enough that the tabs on there are going to catch. This will prevent it from going back in. I'm just going to have to work it back and forth a little bit. Then we can tie up any of the excess wires behind the hitch, and we can even put a little bit of electrical tape to hide the color on the back of our car. That'll finish up your look at the Brophy mounting bracket for four-pole flat trailer connectors, part number BK4F.
Its advertised as having 1/2" tall opening. By my caliper its 0.344", not 0.500" opening.
Won't fit my 1/2" tall 4 pin connector.
Had to order another bracket
The bracket itself was nice but my vehicle and the hitch did not have a convenient place to mount the bracket so I did not use it. I may at some point weld a tab on the hitch to mount the bracket.
Simple but effective means to hold connector. I taped everything for more secure and professional looking mounting.
Eerailer installed it. The thing i don't like about it is, when you plug in the trailer plug, it pushes the cars plug out of the bracket. You have to hold onto the cars plug from behind to it doesn’t slide out.
The plug does not fit in the bracket and no instructions provided on how to install it.
Works great with the trailer wiring har ness.
Simple Bracket. Went to the auto parts store and bought some U-Nuts and Screws to make a clean installation.
It’s quality part and would buy it again just wish it came with hardware to mount it to the ox hitch but no big deal I bought some nice stainless steel bolts and nylon lock nuts so they would not vibrate off.
This bracket doesn’t come with hardware, other cheaper options on the website do.
Arrived in good condition and fast shipping. It fit perfectly on my Santa Cruz. The installation videos on etrailers site where a huge help!
It does its job, but coating isn't great. It pealed off from rust under the coating.
Quality merchandise. Also great communication. The mechanic that installed the hitch said he couldn't get the same quality items at such a good price.
Had this bracket installed the same time I had a hitch and wiring harness installed. It fit well and holds the connector firmly. It sure beats wrapping the wires around the hitch.

Cant plug wiring harness in to without it popping out the back. Still, its a nice bracket to keep the plug in when not in use.
This part is too small for the wiring on the
Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. The mechanic had to file the opening to make it larger.
A good piece, fit well. Did what it was supposed to do. I cant remember if it came with screws or not. The self tappers I used, snapped the second one off installing. Still works ok.
Product fit perfectly and was delivered as promised. Easy installation great experience. 2019 toyota highlander with 350 miles purchased new.
Good product, needed for the tow bar pu rchased.
Did not want to drill holes in my bumper so did not use. Would be nice if it could be bolted directly on the hitch. But the bracket itself was as described, no issues there.

Good news! You do not have to drill into the bumper. You can use the no-drill mount part 18140 that attaches to the hitch with a metal tie and gives you a mounting point for the wiring bracket.

Not very exciting, but it did exactly what it was supposed to do.
It works ok,but does not hold the connector very tied. I drilled and taped two 8/32 holes .to add two screws to hold the connector when I plug the trailer into it

Very Well
Perfectly sized and easy to mount
Was a little awkward getting it secured under the hitch but my son finally got it secure.
Just what I wanted. This bracket is a perfect fit for my trailer hitch receiver. Bracket installs very easily and keeps the 4-pin connector looking nice and neat without having it hang below the bracket or bumper.
Works as advertised! One year in and no problems.
We spent more time trying to get the 4 pin connector through the hole in this bracket than putting the hitch on the car. We ended up using a file to enlarge the hole a little, and it was still not an easy fit. Once through and testing the wires we found we broke one. I had to purchase another 4 pin and spliced the wires... and I tossed this bracket! Very poor design. If the connector itself was tapered along the front it might have helped get it through.

Just fine! Not a complicated device!
