Question:
I am looking at your Bulldog, Atwood and Carlson legs for trailers. They look same as mine for which I need the two 45deg. gears from spiro to crank shafts. None of your parts have any dimensions for me to verify match - I can not find any info on my parts as to origin except 12 v motor vonWise. My tube dimensions are 2.5inch square 32inch long. Shafts diameter on both 0.5 . Outside wheel diameter 1.625 Wheel depth - Crank shaft 0.725 Spiro screw shaft 0.572 There is 18 teeth on both, and they are slotted to fit over a pin in shafts. I will also need plastic washer / o ring that was under the pin on top of snail gear and what ever bushing that might have evaporated from there - I had left over plastic then slap and pin with gear sitting loose on top. Any help be appreciated, I just hate to order parts to find out when they come I got to go through the same plus returns.Landing gear for Avion 5th wheel -1996 BC Thanks

I have a solution for your 1996 Avion 5th wheel, however, it is not as simple as getting two new legs.
Your Avion was manufacturered by Fleetwood and the landing gear was manufacturered by RBW. Fleetwood discontinued the Avion and RBW sold out to Al-Ko. Al-Ko decided to discontinue the landing gear and sold the rights to Atwood Mobile. Atwood Mobile decided to not produce the original RBW landing gear. however, to make a long story short, after my research I have found a way for you to get new landing gear for your 5th wheel.
Both of these options are going to require that you remove your original equipment and start fresh.
The first option is the Bulldog Tandem Landing Gear Set # BD500162, which is a manual set with an 8000 lb lift capacity.
The second option from Stromberg Carlson has two choices - either manual or electric. The Manual Landing Gear # LG-183708 is a weld on, 6000 lb set. The electric version # LG-1 is the manual set with a motor and IP-Rated No-Spark switch included.
I have included a FAQ article regarding trailer jacks that has a section with a landing gear focus.
Just a side note regarding landing gear - Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.
