Ground Clearance of Draw-Tite 65050 Front Receiver on 2005 Chevy 2500 HD

Question:

What is the ground clearance from the bottom of the hitch to the ground? I have a 2008 2500HD diesel pulling a 5th wheel camper. I want to carry a 92 lb. kayak on my roof rack. The kayak is 123inch long.

I don't have an exact hitch height available for the Draw-Tite # 65050 front mounted receiver but I can confidently say that the hitch will not affect your ground clearance at the front of the vehicle.

As you can see in the provided photo, the hitch will install behind the front bumper fascia/front air dam, unlike some other front receivers that sit under the fascia. The receiver tube will sit right in the center of the fascia, height-wise as shown. Therefore, the hitch won't have any negative effect on ground clearance or approach angle.
