Question:

Difference for Dually?I have had an issue with ordering based on “this fits your 3500”.... just wanting to clarify this will fit a ‘08 Sierra 3500 DRW. And that there is no difference between the cab and chassi version and the pick up version? I’ve ordered airbags for the pickup version another site and I had to return for the cab and chassis version even though it is not a cab and chassis model. I’m ready to order today once I receive verification. Will be used for a 415# motorcycle. Thank you!

For your 2008 GMC Sierra 3500 dually, there are differences on many parts depending on if you have the cab and chassis frame or the Heavy Duty truck. There are also sometimes differences based on the SRW versus DRW on certain brackets for correct fit.

It appears you are looking at the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65050 which is a fit for your 3500 Sierra Dually. It will require trimming and I've attached a photo to help with that. If you have a front mounted license plate, you will need a hitch plate mount # 5443. You may also want to consider a hitch lock like # e98880 to deter theft of your accessories.

You can use the hitch for a 415 lb motorcycle due to the vertical load limit of 500 lbs. You simply need to ensure you use a carrier that is compatible like # UF48-979033 which weighs 53 lbs or the etrailer Carrier # e98873 which weighs 58 pounds. Either of these carriers would stay under the hitch capacity when combined with the motorcycle weight.

I also recommend the Erickson Motorcycle and ATV Tie-Downs w Soft Ties and TCS Buckles - 1"x6' - 400 lbs - Qty 2 # EM05729 to help secure your bike. The final thing to consider is when loaded you want to make sure there is adequate air flow to your radiator when the bike is being carried as well as the restricted sightlines.
