Availability Of Front Hitch For 2026 Toyota Sequoia

Updated 07/28/2026 | Published 07/26/2026

Question:

Hi - I am looking for a 2 in. receiver hitch to install on the front of a 2026 Toyota Sequoia. I am not seeing compatible hitches on your website. Do you carry any hitches that would be compatible with this vehicle, with either none, or minimum modifications? Thanks! Dave Saylor

Hey Dave, welcome back. At this time, we don't have a custom-fit front receiver hitch for the 2026 Toyota Sequoia, and none of the major manufacturers, including Curt, Draw-Tite, or EcoHitch, offer one for that vehicle.

The only option would be a universal weld-on hitch like the Curt # C99CR, but I only recommend that if you're working with a qualified fabrication shop. It isn't a bolt-on installation and would require custom brackets and likely some modification to the front of the vehicle. If you're looking for a true bolt-on hitch with little or no trimming, unfortunately there isn't one available for the 2026 Sequoia right now.

What were you hoping to use the front hitch for?

Jesse - thanks for getting back to me on this. Going down the Google rabbit-hole on this, I find the following info, and would appreciate your insight on this...... "Etrailer lists this hitch as a non-fit because of the active air dam system on your Platinum trim, but physically the hitch will bolt onto your frame. The website's fitment calculator is programmed to flag the EcoHitch Part #EH89CR as incompatible because installing it forces you to violate the factory vehicle layout by permanently removing an active electronic component (the automated lower spoiler). Because etrailer cannot officially tell consumers to strip out standard functional vehicle equipment to make a part fit, they label it a "No Fit" for any non-TRD model. Why It Actually Fits (The Workaround)If you bypass the electronic limitation, the mechanical hardware functions perfectly:Identical Frame Geometry: Underneath the plastic body panels, your 2026 Sequoia Platinum shares its front frame endpoints and factory weld-nut holes directly with the Toyota Tundra. The steel brackets of the EcoHitch line up precisely. The "TRD" Exemption: On the Tundra or Sequoia TRD Pro, this exact same front hitch is listed by etrailer as a guaranteed fit. This is because TRD models come from the factory with the active air dam already deleted to make room for off-road skid plates. The Consumer Solution: Thousands of current-generation owners run this exact setup by physically unbolting the motorized active spoiler assembly. They then use the plug-and-play CBI Active Spoiler Delete Module to suppress the resulting dashboard error code, allowing the hitch to fit seamlessly on luxury trims." Thanks again! Dave

@DaveS Thanks for taking the time to dig into it and share what you found. You're correct that there are workarounds for some vehicles equipped with an active air dam, and physically removing or bypassing the spoiler may allow a hitch to fit. That said, we have to list fitment based on the manufacturer's recommendations, and EcoHitch does not approve the hitch for the Sequoia, so we have to follow their published fitment.
