Question:

I have two 10-year old Thule big mouth bike racks and I lost a tray end cap to one of them. I read online that the replacement end cap for the prologue is the one I need, not the end cap that Thule now sells for the big mouth bike rack. It does look like the end cap I have for the other big mouth bike rack. Do you know if this end cap will fit my big mouth bike rack or should I buy the Replacement Wheel Tray Endcap for Thule Echelon, Sidearm and Big Mouth Roof Mounted Bike Carriers, part number 753-3236.

The Thule Big Mount went through a change at one point that included the end caps. The end cap it was changed to was # 753-3236. Prior to that it looked more like # 853-7629 that you have referenced but it is not the same end cap. Your bike rack wheel try where the end cap goes has slots for tabs for the correct end cap.

According to Thule you need # 853-5424 as a replacement.
