Is There Any Reprogramming Required On My 2021 BMW X5 With The Stealth Hitches Receiver and Tow Kit?

Question:

Ive seen the excellent video you have available on this installation. Is there any additional programing needed to address the computer systems on this vehicle? backup sensors etc. I understand from other posts that towing in sport mode is generally recommended. Thanks,

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH25VR will not require any additional programming on your 2021 BMW X5. The wiring in this harness is passive so no programming required. You will be able to switch off the parking sensors by using the button on your console or by going through the menu options in the dash. For exact instructions see your owners manual.

Towing is generally preferred in sport mode as it firms the shifts and allows for the engine to go higher into the RPM's. This is better for the clutches in the transmission as it doesn't allow them to slip and wear out faster.
