Question:
This kit lets me wire my PHEV Outlander for a flat 4 plug, good first step. My trailer is fitted with a 7 conductor plug, brakes, 12v and reverse lights not currently fitted, future upgrade How do I use this kit with the 7 wire plug? Is there a bundled kit that will allow me to use 4 or 7, depending on the trailer inserted?

Helpful Expert Reply:
To install 7-way trailer wiring on your 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander you'd need the part # C59496 that you referenced as well the part # ETBC7 which comes everything needed to convert it to a 7-way plus everything needed to install a brake controller and have the 12 volt accessory circuit active as well. This also gives a 4-way you can use as well. It gives option to have reverse light circuit wired in too in the future if you'd like also.
Then for a brake controller the part # TK63VR would be a great option as well. It uses an inertia sensor to determine how hard to apply the trailer brakes and also is very reliable.
