Question:

It seems most of the 21 tiguans do not have weld nits. My brand new one does not. The directions show that this hitch comes with mounting hardware bolts, nuts washer and fishwire. But your comments make it look like it does not. Any idea if it does?

This issue came up just the other day. It turns out that not all the 2021 VW Tiguans have the weld nuts installed in the frame, I'm told that whether the nuts are in the frame depends on the factory where the vehicle was assembled.

In any event, Curt realized that this was a problem with the 2021 Tiguan models and recently began including hardware for vehicles that don't have the weld nuts in place. We checked our current stock and found that all the # C13381 Curt Class III hitches we have in stock DO include the hardware for vehicles without the weld nuts.

If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118811, a ball mount like # D-28, a hitch pin like # PC3 and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
