Question:
Is there a plug and play for a 2006 dodge 3500 with the Cummins? I have a 28 foot trailer that I pull and I haven’t found a brake control that I like.

This will depend on how your 2006 Dodge Ram is equipped. If you have factory 4 Flat or 7 Way wiring, then yes there is. Basically. If there was no factory wiring, there will only be hardwire options available.
The 7 Way will be fully wired and the Tekonsha Pigtail # 3020-S will plug directly in to a port under your dash. Redarc does not have their own pigtail for this though, so this will need to be hardwired to the # RED44FR. That being said, all the wires are pre-stripped and there are included butt connectors, so this takes very little time to accomplish.
The factory 4 Flat will also have the port under the dash, the blue brake wire does not run all the way back to the 4-pole at the rear and stops at the connector that is located under the driver's side wheel well. In order to finalize the installation you must splice into this wire and continue it back to the plug with our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.
Having no factory wiring will be much the same as having the factory 4 Flat, but there are no wires run under the dash. You will need to use the whole # ETBC7 as well as a 4 Flat like the Tekonsha # 119178KIT for it to piggy back off of. Granted, it sounds like you are already using some kind of wiring, so you most likely wont need another 4 Flat.
As to the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR, these are really gaining popularity. This has to do with the very small footprint they take up when installed, reliability, and ease of use. I mentioned the small footprint as it looks like the know can install very nicely between the 4 Wheel Drive selector and Climate Control panel. With it working on trailers with up to 3 axles and with electric or electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes, it is a highly recommended controller.
