Question:

I have a 2021 Lexus RX 350 that is not equipped with a tow package. It does have a kick sensor but would like to attach a hitch. Will the hitch interfere with the kick sensor and while I have to cut out any plastic to accommodate the hitch? Thanks

As long as your 2021 Lexus RX350 isn't the F-Sport model, the Curt Class III hitch, part # C73DR is a confirmed fit. The Curt # C13272 hitch you'd looked at isn't a confirmed fit.

We haven't received any feedback stating that installing the Curt # C73DR hitch has prevented the hands-free liftgate feature on the Lexus RX350 from working, but it will typically block the sensors from reading input right at the center of the vehicle. If you wave your foot several inches to either side of the receiver tube, the sensors should work just fine.

If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll need a wiring harness like # C56217, a ball mount like # 2753 and a hitch ball like # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch.
