How much distance to I need from the wall in order to lower the steps in an enclosed storage unit?

According to the manufacturer the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 25" to 28-7/8" RV Door Frames - Triple - Aluminum Item # LC791572 will require atleast 4' of clearance when deployed.
