Size of Self-Threading Bolts Included with Curt C13193 Hitch
Updated 04/01/2021 | Published 03/29/2021 >
Question:
I received this hitch and attempted to install it yesterday. The instructions and video state to use a 17mm ratchet socket to secure the self tapping bolts. 17mm is too big for the bolts included as they are 15mm. Did I get the wrong ones? I waited to install because I don’t want to make threads for the wrong bolts and have to correct this later. Am I misinterpreting something in the instructions? Of note the carriage bolts seem fine and secure using a 19mm nut.

Awhile back, Curt switched to a different vendor for their hardware so the size of the bolt head of the hardware you received might have varied from what's described in the instructions. What's important is that the bolts you received be an M12x1.75 x 30 Class 10.9 bolt
