Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 6.0 2500HD Service Body

Question:

Hello, I have a 2005 silverado 2500HD 8ft royal service body, the bottom of the bumper sits just 41/4 inches below the bottom of the chassis. Will this product fit just underneath the bumper? Do you have a hitch receiver that will fit this truck. I need 16,000 towing capacity. Thanks

The Curt Class V Trailer Hitch, # C15313, was designed to fit the 2500 HD models of the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, but it has not been confirmed to fit the cab and chassis models like your service body truck.

The important factor to consider is the width of your truck frame. Cab and chassis models typically have a narrower frame than regular models of the 2500 HD. You will want to measure from the center of one frame rail to the center of the other. If this measurement is 38-1/2 inches or very close to that measurement, then this hitch will work on your truck.

If you find that this hitch will line up with your frame, then it should clear your bumper. The top of the receiver will sit 5-1/2 inches below the vehicle frame (see photo).
